We receive news that is not directly related to Nintendo, but it does affect in part its players, specifically those of Fortnite. The information focuses on Sony, who, as you know, does not allow cross-play with other versions of the title for other consoles either in this game or in others, such as Minecraft.
Well, the CEO of the company,  Kenichiro Yoshida, has recently spoken on this issue at the IFA technology event in Berlin this week. These were the words he shared when asked why PlayStation does not allow cross-play in Fortnite, Rocket League or Minecraft: [wp_ad_camp_3]
Speaking on various platforms, our way of thinking is always that PlayStation is the best place to play. Fortnite, I think, partnered with PlayStation 4 to offer the best user experience, that’s our belief.
But in reality, we already allow cross-play in some titles with PC and some others. So we decided based on what is the best user experience. That is our way of thinking in relation to cross-play.
We remember that shortly after the release of Fortnite in Nintendo Switch we could know that in this game the accounts linked to PlayStation 4 that were used in other consoles were blocked, so it seems to be clear what is the position of Sony if we add these statements. It should be noted that Nintendo also spoke about it at the time.
What do you think?
