Qualcomm officially announces the Snapdragon processor 845 and will arrive with the Xiaomi Mi7 phone

Qualcomm earlier this morning held a press conference in Hawaii. At the beginning of the conference, the company announced the Snapdragon processor 845. Xiaomi CEO, Mr. Lei Jun joined Mr. Cristiano Amon, executive vice president of Qualcomm on the theater network. Mr. Lei Jun said that Xiaomi’s next flagship phone, Xiaomi Mi7, will feature the new Snapdragon 845 and will be one of the first smartphones to receive the processor.

According to Qualcomm, it is announced that the new Snapdragon 845 processor will be manufactured using a 10 nm process similar to the current Snapdragon 835 processor and that it still supports high-speed Internet networks thanks to the Qualcomm X20 modem, which supports download speeds of up to 1 Gbps in ideal conditions.

Detailed specifications were not disclosed, but Mr. Cristiano Amon said that the processor will be presented in detail in a separate event. However, earlier rumors suggested that this processor would come with four Cortex-A75 nuclei for complex tasks and four other Cortex-A53 nuclei to handle the less complex tasks. These eight nuclei would be attached to the Adreno 630 graphics processor.

The Snapdragon 845 is also likely to come with an artificial intelligence processing unit similar to what Huawei did with the HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor and what Apple did with the Apple A11 Bionic processor.

During the same event, Asus and HP officials said that in the first months of 2018 we will see the first Windows 10-powered notebooks that will provide a full-day, thin, thin, and fanless battery. For upcoming hybrid PCs Asus NovaGO and HP Envy X2, they come with the Snapdragon 835 processor and will run all the standard Windows 10 features like Windows Hello and Cortana, and no digital pens. Lenovo is also expected to join the group with ARM-enabled computers in the coming weeks.
