Agents of the National Police have arrested in Fuenlabrada an individual of Chinese nationality as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against intellectual property, after requisitioning in his store 18,200 masks that reproduce characters from the saga ‘Star Wars ‘, whose market value could amount to 400,000 euros.
As reported by the Police Headquarters of Madrid, the investigation was initiated as a result of a complaint filed by the company that has the license to make costumes and distributes products that reproduce characters from the saga.[wp_ad_camp_3]
In the establishment located in Fuenlabrada, the prisoner sold masks that simulated characters of the saga in addition to reproducing the anagram of the society without the authorization of the entity. In addition, the arrested had a large warehouse in the town of Humans that used as a distribution logistics center to shops throughout Spain.
The operation carried out by agents of the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police belonging to the Police Headquarters of Madrid, has managed to intervene a total of 18,200 masks that reproduce characters from the saga ‘Star Wars’, whose value in the market could amount to 400,000 euros.
The Police warns that the putting into circulation of these products, “similar in characteristics but of a manufacturing quality lower than the original licensed products”, may pose a risk to the safety and health of users “especially if it is a question of minors ”
