The developer Square Enix has been very shy in regard to the version of the long-awaited Dragon Quest XI for Nintendo Switch, although the title was released in Japan last year, while in the West will be released this September.
As already confirmed previously, Square Enix had some difficulties at the beginning of the development of the Switch version, so it has been the least talked about. However, producer Hokuto Okamoto confirmed during the PAX East 2018 that the game for Switch is based on the version for PlayStation 4, something that has been widely speculated in the past but is now official.
Okamoto also commented that Dragon Quest XI will not have any type of censorship in its location for the West, although the company tries to adapt some dialogues to a less Japanese version, to fit more with the Western audience.
The creative put the feature “Magic Slot” as an example of something that fits more with Japanese users, but that will not be eliminated in the West, something that many consumers may thank in the future.
